Charity cards

Every year my Girls Brigade Company has a Christmas Concert and we always have a craft stall that my friend Laura and I provide the crafts for. Its now time to make a start on the various bits and pieces that I will be making, some things need to be done nearer the time, but due to my illness I really need to get organised as I dont know how things will be from one week to the next. Here are a couple of charity cards I made, I think they look quite good considering I used some topper sheets that I have had for ages.

Silver Tree

The challenge this week at Sentimental Sundays is to do a card that is out of your comfort zone, I was unsure what I was going to do until I saw the CRAFT challenge, which was to use parchment. So I decided to go for it and came up with this card.

Happy Birthday

Its difficult enough to make two cards for the one person, let alone making three. Anyway I managed so hopefully no one else will ask me to make one LOL. I was also asked to do a card for a one year old, thats all the cards I needed to do, so maybe tomorrow I will be able to start some challenge cards.

Oh Christmas Tree

The challenge over at Bah Humbug this week is flourishes and swirls. So I thought I would use my Cuttlebug Christmas tree embossing folder, I didnt want to leave it plain so I decided to add some deep red diamontes to it, really happy with how this turned out.

Bad Blogger, Bad News and Feeling Down

Cant believe I have done nothing since Friday, chemo was a bit harsh this week. I had a hospital appointment yesterday and I got some cr*p news from my Oncologist, it would seem that after 5 months of various chemotherapy treatments, there has been no change in two of the tumors and one has actually increased in size and is now worse than when I started, so I will now be going for daily radium for 4 weeks as well as the weekly chemo. So I am a bit numb today as you can imagine, I want to be crafting but cant seem to get my head in the right place.

OMGosh I won the Pixie Dust Card Challenge

OMGosh how happy am I this morning, I popped over to Pixie Dust Challenge and their was my baby girl card as a winner ..... I am totally cheesing here  LOL. Thanks so much ladies x

Oh Baby!

I finally got the binding off my arm today, my hand and arm are not great but better than they were. Its great to be able to do some crafting again. Thought I had better start with something simple, so I made a baby girl card using a gorgeous image from Pixie Dust Studio, this card is for their challenge.

I would like to enter this into the Pixie Dust Challenge - Is it a boy or Is it a girl.

No Crafting Here

Unfortunately there has been no crafting getting done here this weekend. I had to have my arm bound up to in an effort to reduce the swelling, it seems to be working so hopefully by the time its removed on Wednesday I should see a huge difference.

I love this little guy, looking forward to using him on some other cards. Might not be anytime soon as I had to have my arm bound today to reduce the swelling, will have to see what I can manage.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow .....

I have been looking at challenge blogs for a long time now, lurking in the background just to see what was involved and looking at all the different styles and interpretations of the challenges, the one thing that is clear is the styles may vary  but there are a lot of talented ladies out there. Well I have decided to test the waters and enter a few, I may not be able to produce some of the amazing cards I have seen, but it I am looking forward to having some fun and increasing my card stash.

Birthday Easel Card

An easel card made for my friends sister. I am really enjoying using patterned papers, I always shied away from using a lot of paper, tending to just matt and layer.

Tri - Shutter Card

Finally got round to having a go at a Shutter Card. I will definitely do more, but might wait till I dont ache as much, then I might be able to put more effort into it.

Snooker Cards - Thank you card

I made these cards as thank you cards for the two men who ran the snooker group my kids attended at the caravan park. I love this waistcoat stamp by Personal Impressions, always a good fall back if stuck for a card for a man.

Cala Lily Cards

I love this stamp from the Close to my heart," Enjoy Every Moment" set. These are sympathy cards, but I am hoping to do some Notelets using this one.
